Mailbigfile is a tool that enables users to send large files. Many email services cap the size of email attachments that are allowed to be sent. MailBigFile provides users a way to send these large files regardless of their email's imposed limits. With MailBigFile users can now send big files across the internet and don't need to necessarily resort to burning them to a CD-ROM or thumb drive. Instead of clogging someone's inbox or having the email rejected all together, Mailbigfile will send recipients a link to the attachments which are stored online safely on MailBigFile's servers. Recipients can click on the link and access the "attachment." Now users can send files up to 2 GB via email using MailBigFile as an intermediary between themselves and their recipients.

Mailbigfile was created by Dessol in 2006. This organization is based out of Lowestoft, Suffolk, United Kingdom. Dessol considers themselves a small team of technical experts passionate about creating websites and applications. Some other applications that they have developed include Storebigfile, Docmonster and Mailmonster.

Mailbigfile is ad-free and can accommodate large files up to 2 GB. Their upload process is fast and multiple files can be uploaded at the same time.

Mailbigfile is a clean, easy-to-use website. Again, no ads or pop-up's are on their site. The layout is simple and the site does exactly what it says - it mails big files. One drawback in the free version is the inability to mail a file to multiple e-mail addresses- one needs to specify a single email address at a time.

Registering for Mailbigfile requires the user's email address, the file and the recipient. One can register for a Pro or Business account easily by just providing their billing information.

There is a free version of Mailbigfile which allows for mailing of files up to 300 MB to a single recipient. The Pro version costs $20/ year and offers max file sizes to be 2 GB, a 28 day online storage of the file and up to 5 recipients per email. The Business version costs $240/ year and provides more customization features for business like the ability to put their logo on the email and a custom URL.

For those who use email to communicate and need to attach large files to their emails, Mailbigfile is a simple, straight-forward solution. If it only enabled users to send these big files to more recipients it would be a 5-star app that really anyone could use!
